Norfolk City Council Member Randy Wright Opens New Kidzone at Norfolk Public Library's Little Creek Library
Full Description:
On Wednesday, May 2, City Council Member Randy Wright and Norfolk Public Library will celebrate the opening of the new KidZone at Little Creek Library at 11:00 a.m. The celebration will include a ribbon cutting.
KidZones are interactive environments where parents and children connect through play, while engaging in early literacy activities. Visits to a KidZone can increase a child’s vocabulary, enhance print awareness, and encourage imagination.
Norfolk Public Library currently has 4 KidZones, one at Horace C. Downing Branch Library, Janaf Library, Kirn Memorial Library, and Larchmont Branch Library. Though the KidZones have similar toys, each environment has its own unique appearance. Discover new countries and cultures at Larchmont or explore the jungle at Horace C. Downing. Little Creek Branch Library’s KidZone will feature a nautical theme.
